Star Wars is coming to Disney Infinity!

The Star Wars theme song is being sung at a very high volume by yours truly as I type this post. Star Wars is coming to Disney Infinity! It’s not exactly a surprise that this collaboration is happening after Marvel launched in Disney Infinity 2.0 but who cares, because its real now! Don’t believe me? Check out the announcement trailer below!

Still humming that theme song? Good. Similar to the previous versions of Disney Infinity, the 3.0 edition of the game will be available at a suggested retail price of $64.99. The Starter Pack will include two figures, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano, a Play Set (story mode) as well as the base needed to place the figures in-game.

Here is what’s new to 3.0.

  • Three Star Wars Play Sets, one set in the timeline of Episodes I-III, the second set during the original trilogy, Episodes IV-VI, and the third available this winter based on Star Wars: The Force Awakens
  • Additional Play Sets offering distinct gameplay and environments, including a Disney•Pixar Play Set based on the upcoming film Inside Out, and a Marvel Play Set featuring Hulkbuster Iron Man, Ultron, and other Marvel characters
  • A fully enhanced Toy Box with two new multiplayer Toy Box Expansion Games,Toy Box Speedway (kart racing) and Toy Box Takeover (action-adventure)
  • More figures of fan-favorite characters from across The Walt Disney Company, like Mickey and Minnie, Sam Flynn and Quorra from Tron: Legacy, Mulan and Olaf, among many others

The only thing that would make this screenshot better would be a few speeder bikes hitting the trees

The Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition will be available this fall just in time for the holidays and the long awaited release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. We don’t know the full line-up of all of the figures that will be included in the first wave, but we do know that Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Yoda Princess Leia, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo and Chewbacca will be joining the fray. We’ll be doing our very best to bring you as many deals on these as possible, and we will be working double time because I know I want them all. All of them…

Here’s a quick look at their in-game models. Disney Infinity and the CGI Clone Wars are a perfect fit together. The styles mesh so well together and we’re not going to say no to a game that allows us to carve through droids with Han and Ahsoka. Seriously if you haven’t checked out the Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoon do yourself a favor and plow through it on Netflix.

Still here with us? Good, then you must be as excited about this as I am. Ok then, I have one last piece of media to share with you and that is this awesome behind the scenes look at Avalanche Studios, the development team behind Disney Infinity. Game Informer brings us a first hand look at how the art style has evolved from the beginning as well as a sneak peak at the first batch of Disney Infinity 3.0 figures.

The Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Starter Pack will be available this fall and will include the 3.0 Edition Base and game, the Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic Play Set, Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker character figures, and a web code card that unlocks content for PC and mobile devices. This allows you to play with the figures you buy inside the toy box. Stay tuned for more information, we should have pictures of the final figures for you guys and gals very soon.
