Today’s student animators are next year’s Disney, Pixar, and Dreamworks professionals.
For over 50 years, CalArts, located in Valencia, California (and originally developed as an undertaking by Walt Disney and his brother Roy) has been the stalwart leader in creating the next generations of animators in the US. But for the first time, a qualified contender (with an interesting pedigree) is in the running, consistently ranking second in the country for those looking for a degree and future in professional Animation.
Interestingly, the Ringling College of Art + Design, a school founded by John Ringling (one of the seven Ringling Brothers of Circus fame), has risen to be a fantastic choice for those particularly focused on 3D animation. Below you’ll find the Senior Projects for 2015, and see the talent on the page (or in the computer, to be precise). Also keep your eye out for the gaming talent in that school, but that’s a post for another time.
