Black Friday in July, what? Amazon is looking to build some buzz around the slow retail months by creating a holiday around their 20th anniversary.  What’s the catch? The deals will be exclusive to prime members. They’re trying to go big and claiming bigger deals than what they shipped for Black Friday. Now this isn’t the first time we’ve seen retailers do this but it’s the first time that we can recall where it seems to be working, at least among other retailers. Prepare yourself this week because we have Walmart, Best buy and Toy’s R Us looking to steal…

Hall H always has fireworks at SDCC and this year was no exception. I can’t believe we’re finally getting a new Star Wars movie this year but man, it’s really happening! We’re trying to hold strong and stay away from spoiling anything but if you can’t (and we won’t blame you) click the play button. Let us know how it is…please? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTNJ51ghzdY

It looks like WB came around after all of the hub bub regarding the leaked panel win, but hey that’s a win for the fans that just want to see the video not filmed on a potato. Plenty of mixed reactions online to this trailer, even we’re a bit on the fence for this one but hey, the more super hero flicks the better imo. Click the play button and let us know if Leto nails the Joker or leaves you wanting more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLLQK9la6Go

San Diego Comic-Con came and went this past weekend and if you’re like us you’re still reeling from all the panels, trailers and new announcements that just dropped. My personal favorite event was WB dropping the trailer for the highly anticipated super hero flick that’s getting ready to FINALLY introduce the Justice League to the big screen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WWzgGyAH6Y There’s a lot to take in from this clip, the Joker is teased, we get up and close with Lex Luthor (pre-social network it seems, someone get this man a snapchat account) and we get a look at Wonder Woman in action.…

This week Valve officially introduced their upcoming controller that aims to take over as the primary controller option for their Steam platform. Over the past two years Valve has done an incredible job offering developers support in getting controller support into almost every major release, something that used to be quite the unicorn in PC Gaming. At the moment the Xbox 360 controller, both wired and via USB wireless adapter, is the go to choice and it has worked flawlessly. It seems Valve isn’t content with just having the analog stick staple as its main option and is looking to…

The Summer Rush of movies are in full effect! Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mad Max and San Andreas lit up the May charts and June is looking to keep the box office rolling. Who’s going to be the big winner this month? We can’t say for sure but the month is really front loaded. Can The Rock keep the San Andreas momentum rolling or is it going to be the boys from Entourage packing the house. Will it be the cursing puppet holding the crown or will Dinosaur Merch have the big revival it needs this year( I might be the only…

Let the hunt begin! The latest round of figures from Nintendo has just released and we’re here to bring you a roundup on what just dropped. This is a really tough Amiibo drop, since a lot of the big retailers have exclusive figures (Gamestop, Target, Toy’s R Us), meaning the hunt to grab the whole series will be fierce. On top of that the frenzy surrounding wave 4 has made it really hard to pick up select figures, so if you were hoping to add that silver Mario Amiibo to your roster you might be out of luck until the next re-stock.…

Longtime fans of the guys over at Screen Junkies are probably pretty aware of the long-time bromance between reviewer Nick Mundy and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.  Their interviews have always been pretty funny to watch, but this video is instead all about the feels. See, the Rock knew that Nick was engaged to his beautiful fiance, and when approached about attending, instead decided he wanted to be the one to do they marrying.  (Nick to Dilara, that is, with Rock as officiant) Not only that, they decided to set up a surprise Wedding! They start off by trolling Nick, thinking he just…

The Star Wars theme song is being sung at a very high volume by yours truly as I type this post. Star Wars is coming to Disney Infinity! It’s not exactly a surprise that this collaboration is happening after Marvel launched in Disney Infinity 2.0 but who cares, because its real now! Don’t believe me? Check out the announcement trailer below! Still humming that theme song? Good. Similar to the previous versions of Disney Infinity, the 3.0 edition of the game will be available at a suggested retail price of $64.99. The Starter Pack will include two figures, Anakin Skywalker…

These days, most super-selling toys and games are created in a sea of focus tests, synergistic branding, and qualitative post launch marketing studies than could have ever been imagined in the toy industry of yesteryear. In this blast from the past, we’ll look at 5 classic toys and games that were created by complete accident. 5. Slinky  Way back in 1943, a Naval Engineer by the name of Richard T. James was working on a project to develop methodologies to stabilize important nautical equipment on rough seas.  Various springs, magnets, and other items were high on a shelf, which he…
